Cape Town – Hulu has released the first official trailer for The Handmaid's Tale season 3 – and it looks like there is a big fight ahead.
Resistance is the central theme of the upcoming season and will focus on Offred/June's (Elisabeth Moss) struggle against the repressive regime of Gilead.
At the end of season 2, Offred was about to escape to Canada with her baby. She decided to stay in Gilead to search for her older daughter and instead sent the baby off with Ofglen/Emily (Alexis Bledel).
While an earlier teaser just gave us a taste of what's to come the new 2-minute clip gives a bit more detail.
In the trailer, Offred says: "Heresy, that's what you get punished for. Not for being part of the resistance, because officially, there is no resistance. Not for helping people escape, because officially, there's no such thing as escape."
But she can't fight alone she needs allies with power – that's where Nick (Max Minghella) and Serena (Yvonne Strahovski) can play a part.
