Cape Town - There is a new co-presenter in The Great South African Bake Off tent.
Lentswe Bhengu, a trained chef by trade, will join Anne Hirsch and judges Shirley Guy and Tjaart Walraven, for the second season of the BBC Lifestyle series.
More about Lentswe
Born and raised in KwaZulu Natal, Lentswe has always had a love for food. He began his career in the investment finance industry, before trading in his suit and tie for a chef’s jacket in 2010.
After graduating, he worked at various top South African restaurants such as the Savoy Cabbage, The Roundhouse Restaurant and Saucisse Deli.
He is also a familiar face to foodie fans across the continent after appearing on Soweto TV’s Kasi Kitchen, web series The Africa Plate and SABC3’s morning show Expresso.
“I’m over the moon to be joining The Great South African Bake Off. The format is a global phenomenon and I can’t wait to join BBC Lifestyle’s successful local version. It will be great to see and hopefully sample, all of the baker’s creations, " says Lentswe.
The Great South African Bake Off will be broadcast on BBC Lifestyle this October.
