Cape Town - Former president and first lady of the United States, Barack and Michelle Obama, have signed a multi-year agreement to produce films and series for Netflix, the online streaming service announced on Monday.
According to Netflix the deal could include scripted and unscripted series, as well as documentaries and features.
Chief content officer for Netflix, Ted Sarandos, said: "Barack and Michelle Obama are among the world's most respected and highly-recognised public figures and are uniquely positioned to discover and highlight stories of people who make a difference in their communities and strive to change the world for the better.
Reports of a possible negotiation deal between the Obamas and Netflix started surfacing in March, but further details surrounding the collaboration was still unclear.
No stranger to internet TV giant, Obama joined David Letterman on 12 January for the launch of My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman on Netflix.
