Cape Town – Sad news for the Brooklyn Nine-Nine fans.
Fox announced on Thursday that the popular comedy has been cancelled after five seasons.
I had the great pleasure of working on a few episodes of #Brooklyn99. Incredible cast. Amazing writers. Excellent crew. Maybe if enough fans speak up, some other smart company will scoop up this gem and let them make more funny episodes?

i believe media and entertainment are root causes and sources of change in how we see each other and how society sees itself, and i think that #brooklyn99 does so much work in imagining a more inclusive world. and to do all that as a show about the police is... whew!!! #saveb99

But there might be some light at the end of the tunnel.
According to The Hollywood Reporter other networks have reportedly called the producers from Universal Television.
The publication reports that Hulu, Netflix, TBS and NBC have all thrown their hats in the ring.
Sources told the publication that the studio plans to revive the series at another outlet following the outpouring of support from both critics and stars.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 5 is scheduled to air on 1Magic (Dstv 103) from Thursday, 31 May at 19:00.
