DStv is making its 24-hour news channels available online to all South Africans – even if you’re not a subscriber

In response to the global outbreak of the coronavirus, DStv Now has added a new way for everyone to get free access to its news channels. 

DStv Now is making the following 24-hour news channels available on its platform: BBC World, CNN, eNCA, SABC News, Newzroom Afrika, and Euronews Now. 

This service will also be available to people who don’t have a DStv subscription in South Africa. 

DStv Now is the online version of DStv and can me accessed via smartphone, tablet, laptop, computer, smart TV or Xbox. 

Subscribers can access all the DStv bouquets they are subscribed to online for free, but what many don’t know is there a section available on DStv Now that is totally free and available to everyone – even those that don’t have a subscription. 

Apart from the news channels, this free service also has the following channels available to watch: Channel O, PBS (for the kids), SuperSport Play, and TBN

In addition, episodes of some of South Africa’s best-loved soapies are also available free, including Igazi, The River, Isibaya, Binnelanders, Suidooster and Die Ware Naarheid

How to sign up for DStv Now’s free service: 

Go to now.dstv.com and click on 'Sign Up'. 

Fill in your details and click 'Create An Account'. 

In the next step, you’ll be prompted to provide your ID, smartcard or customer number. If you’re not subscribed to DStv, scroll to the bottom and choose Skip. 

Name your profile and set your profile pic, and start watching.
