Meghan Markle is the voice behind the new Disneynature documentary Elephant which will be released on Disney+ on 3 April.

This is her first project since she and Prince Harry announced they'd be stepping away from their roles as senior royals on 31 March.

In January news first broke that the duchess signed a voice-over deal with Disney in exchange for a donation to an elephant charity.

The deal was made in return for a donation to Elephants Without Borders, an organisation dedicated to conserving wildlife and helping protect the animals from poaching.

On Thursday, Disney released a poster for the movie.

According to Harper's Bazaar royal correspondent Omid Scoobie Meghan recorded her narration in London last autumn.

He wrote on Twitter: "Meghan recorded her narration in London last fall and was made aware of the project via mutual friends of the filmmakers (@ElesWoutBorders founder Mike Chase) she met in Botswana in 2016."

Elephant will debut alongside Dolphin Reef narrated by Natalie Portman.
