Cape Town – Afrikaans soap star Heino Schmitt, who exited the SABC2 soap 7de Laan a few months ago, has joined the channel's Afrikaans magazine show Pasella as a field presenter.

Heino Schmitt, whose last 7de Laan scenes were filmed late last year and broadcast earlier this year, will make his Pasella appearance in his first insert on Friday 11 March on SABC2 at 19:30.

Schmitt joined the Tswelopele Productions magazine show after 11 years of playing the role of Altus de Bruyn and is one of several new faces who were added to the latest season of Pasella that just started.

"His charm, good looks and winning smile will be something for Pasella viewers to look forward to as they welcome him in his new role as presenter," says the show.

Heino Schmitt will be travelling around South Africa, discovering hidden gems, and doing profile interviews. His first insert will be in the Magaliesberg talking to 7de Laan actor Zetske van Pletzen and stunt biker Skinny van Schalkwyk.

"Pasella is a beloved and well-known show. I like challenges and this is an opportunity to grow," says Schmitt.
