Johannesburg - Generations: The Legacy has been on our television screens for almost four years and it seems like drama surrounding the soapie hasn’t subsided.

Producer and creator Mfundi Vundla sparked artists’ emotions after he called the Generations 16 (the former actors infamously fired from the original show) “stupid” in an interview with Phemelo Motene on radio station 702.

Mfundi can be heard saying the strike that took place might have been a way to pull him down. When asked if he was saddened by the strike, he said, “Some of those people, their careers where like really jumping, where are they today?

“Most of them really, they were on an upward trajectory with a show which was doing very well. The whole thing was stupid and it’s sad,” he continued.

Mfundi then added that “they should forget the 16 and move on”.

The comment got former Generations actor Anga Makubalo’s back up. He was part of the Generations 16 strike back in 2014, where lead actors embarked on a strike for better pay and royalties but later got fired from the soapie.

Anga, former Generations actor Thami Mngqolo and Scandal! actress Kgomotso Christopher hit out at Mfundi.
