Los Angeles – Lena Dunham and Girls are about ready to move on.
E! Online first reported that the popular HBO series will end after season 6.
The Hollywood Reporter then went on to confirm the news however, HBO declined to comment.
The comedy-drama created by and starring Dunham follows a close group of twenty-somethings living in New York City.
Other cast members include: Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet Adam Driver, Alex Karpovsky, Andrew Rannells and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
The series won its first Emmy in 2012 and a Golden Globe in 2013.
Meanwhile season 5 of the show is set to premiere in the US on 21 February.
The new season will pick up 6 months after the season 4 finale.
