Inbetweeners star says the show wouldn’t be well received today because ‘it seems to be cool to be offended’

Cape Town - It has been over a decade since popular British show, The Inbetweeners, first aired and one of its stars - James Buckley - thinks it wouldn’t be as well received today.

In an interview published on Monday, Buckley – who played Jay on the comedy series - told Digital Spy that "it seems to be cool at the moment to be offended" adding “it's killing comedy, because you're not allowed to joke about anything, it seems. There seems to be a joke police, nowadays."

The show ran from 2008-2010 and had two spin-off movies titled The Inbetweeners Movie (2011) and The Inbetweeners 2 (2014).

Jay posted a screengrab of the interview on his Instagram, simply asking, “Would the Inbetweeners be “too offensive” these days? What do you think?”
