Johannesburg - Fans of The Wendy Williams Show will have to wait an extra week for its return, Page Six reports.

Wendy (54) announced over the weekend that her show will now return on Monday, 14 January as she continues to recover from a shoulder injury.

A post on the show’s Instagram page explained that Wendy wanted to recover fully before returning to the small screen.

“After fracturing her shoulder, Wendy is on the mend and wants to return pain-free and be 200%, delivering the best show that millions of viewers tune-in to watch.”

Concerns for her health were raised even before the show went on a festive-season break.

During the 20 December show Wendy slurred her words and stumbled through her introduction of rap group The Lox. She later issued an apology for her behaviour and blamed her performance on painkillers she took to treat her fractured shoulder.

Upon the show’s return fans will be interested to find out if she will address rumours that she is set to divorce her husband, Kevin Hunter.

In 2017 the Daily Mail revealed how her husband of over 20 years was living a double life and allegedly had a mistress who lived down the road from the married couple’s house. In December 2018 it was revealed his alleged mistress is now pregnant, a development that reportedly has Wendy considering a divorce. She has a 19-year-old son, Kevin Hunter Jnr, with her husband.
