Jer-ry! Jer-ry! Guess who’s getting a TV judge show

Cape Town – After the cancellation of The Jerry Springer Show in June after 27 seasoon, the talk show host will start Judge Jerry in 2019 that will be distributed by NBCUniversal Television Distribution.

The new hour long Judge Jerry will likely make its way to South African shores on MultiChoice's DStv satellite pay-TV service eventually, similar to The Jerry Springer Show that started on M-Net, moved to M-Net Series and eventually the M-Net City channel.

"Judge Jerry will merge Jerry's talent for connecting with people, his incredibly relatable and funny personality and his legal training and governing experience to bring viewers a more entertaining court show," says Tracie Wilson, NBCUniversal Television Distribution executive vice-president of creative affairs, in a statement.

"We are so happy to continue our fantastic partnership with Jerry, who is a proven TV icon with a dedicated and broad fan base."

"For the first time in my life, I am going to be called honourable," says Jerry Springer. "My career is coming full circle, and I finally get to put my law degree to use after all these years."
