You won't believe what A-list star Joe Exotic wants to play him in a fictional take on his life?
In case you still haven't watched the Netflix documentary Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness Joe Maldonado-Passage aka Joe Exotic is a big cat enthusiast and zoo owner who is now doing time for ordering a hit on his long-time rival, animal rights activist, Carole Baskin.
The documentary has sparked talks of a second season, and a mini-series starring comedian Kate McKinnon is also in the works.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter filmmakers, Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaiklin gave an update on how Joe is handling his newfound fame since the series came out.
Joe, who is currently serving a 22-year sentence, is now in isolation in a new prison facility due to coronavirus concerns.
On how Joe is doing after the series debuted Rebecca said that he has always wanted to be a star and that he is excited to have captured people's attention.
She also shared that Joe would like Brad Pitt or David Spade to play him in a movie or scripted series.
"He doesn't refer to David Spade as David Spade — he refers to him as 'Joe Dirt'."
On whether there is a sequel coming Eric joked: "We're going to make a sequel — Locked up with Joe."
Eric also revealed a surprising fact; Joe ran for president alongside Donald Trump in 2016.
"There’s a fascinating parallel that Joe ran for president alongside Donald Trump. I don’t think a lot of people knew that. And neither thought they would actually be president and maybe we would have ended up with Joe."
