Jude Law filming in Cape Town

Cape Town – A-list actor Jude Law is currently in Cape Town filming a TV series, The Young Pope.

In the series he plays the "complicated and conflicted" character Pope Pius XIII.

City Press reported that Law was seen garbed in a white papal robe, pectoral cross, skull cap, red cherry loafers and a tasselled sash around his waist in between shoots in the city.

He is reportedly staying at the five-star Mount Nelson hotel.

The eight part miniseries begun filming on Tuesday and is directed by Paolo Sorrentino.

Filming was mostly done in Italy with a few final scenes being shot in Cape Town. 

Diane Keaton is said to star alongside Law as Sister Mary a nun who raised him and helped him reach the papacy.
