Lena Headey wanted a better death for Cersei in 'Game of Thrones'

Cape Town – Lena Headey is just as disappointed as fans by her Game of Thrones character's death.

Weeks after the show's finale Lena has said in an interview that she was "gutted" that her character Cersei Lannister didn't receive a more fitting death scene in the final series.

In an interview with The Guardian the actress admitted that she wanted a better death. Her character and her brother/lover Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) was crushed to death in the penultimate episode of the season.

"Obviously you dream of your death. You could go in any way on that show. So I was kind of gutted. But I just think they couldn’t have pleased everyone. No matter what they did, I think there was going to be some big comedown from the climb," she said.

Lena can be seen next in the drama The Flood, about the refugee crisis.
