Cape Town – The American Idol revival has added two new judges to the panel.
CinemaBlend reports that Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan have been confirmed as judges.
Bryan took to Twitter to share the news in a heartfelt message to his fellow judges and contestants.

Richie also tweeted a video sharing the exciting news.

The pair will join Katy Perry who was announced earlier and Ryan Seacrest returns as host.
Perry also tweeted her excitement at the news.

According to Deadline the three will make their first official appearance together on 4 October on ABC’s GMA show.
The nationwide auditions kicked off in August and is expected to run until October.

The show is set to air sometime in 2018.
