Lip Sync Battle Africa contestant talks faking it

Johannesburg - Comedy heavyweights Jason Goliath and Tol A$$ Mo go up against Celeste Ntuli and Nina Hastie as two comedy tag-teams engage in the first double contest of the Lip Sync Battle Africa tonight on MTV (DStv 130) at 20:50.

No stone is left unturned as the funnymen and women bring it in a bid to out-sync, out-dance and generally up-stage the competition in what must be the funniest outing yet of the hit show.

Watch the trailer here:

We had a quick chat with Nina about lip syncing and faking it.

Do you practice in front of the mirror?

I practice taking selfies in the mirror.

What do you think is the secret behind good lip syncing?

You must play the song on blast in your car for a week. This makes you think you are in a music video. Pretend to be in the video. Pretend you are a superstar. It helps if you have a convertible as well. And flowy hair (whether you bought it or grew it)

Lip syncing is all about faking it. Have you ever had to fake it?

You mean like in the bedroom? No, I've been blessed with the gift of being able to tell if it's going to be good just by looking at someone. Also, women drive the experience - and I refuse to have to fake it because good sex is a basic human right.

Can you read lips?

Elephant shoe.

Which song do you always sing along to in your car?

At the moment I have Ngud by Kwesta playing in my car - because the irony of me singing "ke tswere stocko sa lekgoa" cracks me up.
