TV host Emo Adams has announced that due to coronavirus concerns, Maak My Famous will be taking "a short production break."
The news comes after President Cyril Ramaphosa declared a national state of disaster, prohibiting gatherings of more than 100 people.
"We care about the well-being of our audiences, talent and crew," Emo said in a statement shared on Instagram.
The production team also confirmed that those who bought tickets to the filming of the talent scouting competition may use their ticket at a later time.
"Please make sure that you and your family stay safe," he urged.
In light of the global outbreak, many studios are shutting down productions of scripted dramas, talks shows, soapies and reality TV series.
On Thursday Survivor South Africa became the first local TV production directly impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, with M-Net "re-assessing the timelines and location for the next season."
