Meet the contestants of The Search: E! Host South Africa

Johannesburg – E! Entertainment Television is continuing its quest to bring more African content to the channel, launching The Search: E! Host South Africa. 

This six-part reality competition series will showcase local up-and-coming talent as they compete to become the first E! South Africa host.

The show will premiere on Wednesday, 1 February, at 20:55 (DStv 124).

Seasoned presenter Andile Ncube, the host of The Search: E! Host South Africa, will be there to show the contestants how it’s done, while Terry Pheto – who is no stranger to the spotlight and being behind the camera – will judge the competition and mentor the contestants. 

Andile and Terry will have the help of famous faces starring as guest judges, including fashion visionaries David Tlale and Gert-Johan Coetzee, local entertainment sensation ProVerb, and Bonang Matheba, as the first guest judge. Be sure to look out for a host of other famous faces from the E! family popping in show their support and encouragement.

Meet the contestants

The eight contestants were pre-selected through a casting process and there were no public auditions.  The contestants for The Search: E! Host South Africa were carefully selected through a casting process. Selection process included the following criteria previous presenting experience, pop culture knowledge and a passion for the E! brand.

The contestants will tackle weekly challenges and survive eliminations, while the cameras catch their every move.

The show sees the contestants get up close and personal as they live together for the duration of the show, making for close bonds and fierce competition. Viewers will be able to watch the contestants evolve and grow throughout the show with behind-the-scenes moments including a confessions room.

The show was shot in a Johannesburg based mansion complete with a glam-room, where contestants had their own makeup artists and stylists to tend to their every style need. Selected outfits were provided by fashion designers David Tlale and Jacques Le Grange.
