More DStv subscribers can watch the premiere of 'Trackers' on M-Net tonight

Cape Town – For one night only Multichoice has decided to make M-Net (DStv 101) available for more of its DStv subscribers.

It is a big night for the pay-TV broadcaster as the much-anticipated adaptation of Deon Meyer’s international bestselling crime thriller, Trackers premieres at 20:00.

Not only will the five-part series – a co-production between M-Net, HBO’s sister channel Cinemax, and the German broadcaster ZDF – be making its worldwide debut across Africa in the prime-time slot, it will also immediately be available on the MultiChoice video-on-demand service, ShowMax.

M-Net will be available on the decoders of its DStv Family, Compact and Compact Plus customers as between 18:00 and 22:10.

"Trackers shines the spotlight on the incredible talent working in the African film and television industry,” says Yolisa Phahle, MultiChoice CEO of General Entertainment.

"We are immensely proud of this milestone production. It’s one of the biggest ventures in the history of M-Net, and we trust that it will be the first of many enticing and authentic stories from our continent to reach global audiences. Tonight is a big night for MultiChoice, and we would like to share the pilot episode, which has the feel of a movie, with more of our customers."

The pilot episode of the exhilarating five-part series is 90 minutes long. The rest of the story will unfold in four hour-long episodes with the Sunday movie airing at 21:00.

Trackers weaves together various storylines that focus on black rhinos, the CIA, organised crime, diamond smuggling, corruption, state security and an international terrorist plot to attack Cape Town. Cast members include Thapelo Mokoena, Rolanda Marais, Brendan Daniels, Sandi Schultz, James Gracie, Sisanda Henna, Jill Middelkop, Trix Vivier, Jerry Mofokeng, Grace Olifant, Albert Maritz and Ed Stoppard.
