Cape Town – Lifetime has greenlit a movie based on the NXIVM sex cult.
Smallville actress Allison Mack made headlines in 2017 when she was accused of being a high-ranking member of a sex cult.
In April this year, she pleaded guilty to charges she was involved in a scheme to turn women into sex slaves for the spiritual leader, Keith Raniere of a cult-like upstate New York group, called NXIVM.

Lifetime announced on Wednesday that they are working on the movie NXIVM Cult: A Mother’s Nightmare, centering on the shocking true story of Catherine Oxenberg and her fight to save her daughter India from a dangerous sex cult.
Andrea Roth (Rescue Me) takes on the role of Catherine while Peter Facinelli (Twilight) stars as Keith Raniere, the leader of the organisation. Jasper Polish (Devil’s Whisper) stars as India and Sara Fletcher (Secret Girlfriend) portrays Keith’s associate in the cult, actress Allison.
According to a press release by the network, the film tells the story of a mother who will stop at nothing to get her daughter back and exposes the intricate seductive power of Allison and Keith and the mental and physical abuse India fell victim to.
The film is scheduled for a spring release.
