Cape Town - A Netflix blunder left the Duchess of Cambridge looking quite raunchy after a clip advertising a documentary in which she features aligned perfectly with an ad for a doccie about female escorts below it.

One viewer was forced to do a double take while scrolling through Netflix when they spotted an ad for a show about the royals aligned with a thumbnail from a show about sex workers.

The result of the gaffe was an optical illusion that made it look as if Kate was wearing raunchy black underwear and stockings while kissing Prince William on their wedding day.

The snap was meant to advertise the documentary The Royals, which features interviews with those close to the family.

But it got mixed up with the series about two call girls who find their clients on the internet.

The Royals' thumbnail was a picture of Kate and Prince William sharing a kiss after they’d said their “I do’s” back in 2011, while the picture for Escorts showed a scantily clad woman holding a champagne bottle.

When the pictures lined up it looked like the underwear-clad woman was actually Kate's bottom half.

The hilarious mistake was shared on Reddit by Big_Miss_Steak_, who called it the “risqué side of Netflix”.

Reddit users were left amused by the error, with some calling on the site to make it into a real series.

Take a look at the snap here:
