New season of The Voice UK coming express to SA

Cape Town – The Voice UK 2019 - will be broadcast in South Africa less than 24 hours after it premieres in the UK.

The first episode of the new series will air on Sunday, 6 January at 18:00 on ITV Choice (DStv 123).

The Voice’s infamous Blind Auditions began recording in Manchester back in October and, for the new series, there’s a major twist to the established format. For the first time, singers have been allowed to audition as trios as well as duos and solo artists.

THE COACHES

All four coaches from the 2018 series have signed to return for the latest series.

Olly Murs, will.i.am, Jennifer Hudson and Sir Tom Jones will be back in the red chairs.

On his decision to return, longest-serving coach will.i.am says: “The UK always surprises me with some of the freshest artists and this keeps me coming back for more. By adding trios, we’re raising the bar, so bring it on!”

Emma Willis, who has been at the helm of The Voice UK since 2014 returns as the show's frontwoman.

“I’m so happy we’re about to get going all over again. I’ve learnt to expect the unexpected with performances, some make me want to bust a move, some give me goosebumps and some make me cry like a baby ... no day is the same.”
