Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon dismiss rumours of drama on 'Big Little Lies' set

Cape Town - Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon have denied rumours there was trouble behind the scenes of Big Little Lies season two.

Reports surfaced earlier this month claiming director Andrea Arnold, who led the second season of the drama, was stripped of creative control during production by original director Jean-Marc Vallee, who was behind the first season of the Emmy winning hit.

IndieWire reported that Andrea was replaced in the editing room and on reshoots by Jean-Marc.

HBO executive Casey Bloys has shot down the allegations, insisting the rumours were false, and now Nicole and Reese are standing behind the statement too, insisting there is no truth to the story.

Reese also added that in their minds there is no controversy, they just love the show.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly the leading ladies cleared the air. Nicole praised Casey's handling of the rumours while Reese told the publication that in their minds there is no controversy.

"We just love the show. We had such a great time doing it. There was a lot of misinformation and no credited sources on any of the information. This was an incredibly collaborative process for all of us and the idea that anyone was mistreated and not communicated with is completely not true," said Reese.

On whether or not the show will return for a third season Nicole said they will decide as a group.
