The show has not aired yet but people are already talking about Ferguson Films upcoming series The Imposter. One of the main characters in the film is actress Omuhle Gela who plays the character of Lerato on the show. DRUM caught up with Omuhle to talk about her new character and more.

Can you tell us about your character on the upcoming series, The Imposter?

I play the character of Lerato. She is a kasi girl who grew up in Pretoria. She is a very sweet girl who is very misunderstood because she works in a tavern. She is in love with Junior.

What can viewers expect from ‘The Imposter’?

Viewers can expect really good and amazing writing from the writers, as well as a lot of suspense and good acting.

You have played quite a number of different characters over the years, what are the areas that you feel you need to improve on as an actress?

There are a lot! It’s difficult to point out a specific area because I believe there is always room for improvement, which is why I still attend acting classes when I can even after studying acting.

If you were a colour, what colour would you be and why?

I would definitely be white because white is such a pure, peaceful and calm colour.

What is the one thing Omuhle cannot go a day without?

My phone

If you were on an island and could only bring three items, what items would you bring and why?

My phone- It is my everything.

My handbag- Oh My Gosh, my whole life is in my handbag.

Water- So I don’t die.

What is your least favourite thing about humanity?

People like to judge and compare where it is so unnecessary , especially in this industry. I wish we could all stand as one, women specifically.

The Imposter starts this Sunday at 8pm on Mzansi Magic
