Cape Town – There’s a One Tree Hill reunion coming but it’s not what you think.
Former cast members Danneel Ackles, Hilarie Burton, Robert Buckley, and Antwon Tanner will star in a Lifetime Christmas movie.
Earlier this week the actors teased set photos on social media which they have now deleted sparking rumours of the new project.
The Christmas Contract is written by Cassie Doyle and directed by Monika Mitchell and will air on the channel later this year as part of their holiday line-up.
According to Deadline the film began shooting in Louisiana earlier this month.
Here’s the official synopsis released by Lifetime:
It’s Jolie’s (Burton) first time going back home to Louisiana since her devastating break up with Foster (Hunter Burke,). Seeing him is inevitable as their parents run the town’s annual Christmas Market together, but when she discovers Foster is bringing home a new girlfriend, Jolie cannot bear the thought of going home alone and seeing them together. Her best friend Naomi (Ackles) suggests that Jolie bring her flaky brother, Jack (Buckley), home for Christmas as he has no plans. Jolie, a professional web designer, is hesitant; so, Naomi, a lawyer, creates a Christmas contract to give them both something they want—a buffer for those awkward moments around Jolie’s ex and a website to help sell Jack’s upcoming novel. Unbeknownst to them, the Christmas contract proves to be so much more than what they signed up for.
Tanner shared a photo of himself in character on Instagram. He wrote: “They say I clean up nice. Thanks for the love @hilarieburton for making me switch up the gear in a flick #christmascontract @danneelackles512 @robertearlbuckley @tylerhilton.”

The teen drama One Tree Hill ran from 2003-2016 and centred on half-brothers Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Nathan Scott (James Lafferty) who trade between kinship and rivalry both on the basketball court and in the hearts of their friends in the small, but not so quiet town of Tree Hill, North Carolina.
