Our Idols critic predicts who will win Idols SA 2015!

Cape Town – The Idols race has finally come to an end! And boy was it a long race.

It’s really no surprise that Mmatema Moremi and Karabo Mogane are the last two left standing.

I was really sad to see Rhema leave last night but I was way more relieved that he didn’t get to perform the producer’s choice, Ricardo’s, Daddy. Like seriously, whose bad idea was that?!

On to the performances.

Karabo started off the show with the producer’s choice, Micheal Buble’s, Home. He brought an R&B feel to the song and had a nice tone, so it was a good rendition of the song.
Sigh. When it comes to the winners song I think Karabo got the short straw. First of all that title, Ding Dong seriously what kind of whack title for a song is that?! It started out a bit off key and he really didn’t look very comfortable performing. The song just doesn’t fit him at all. It really wasn’t a good performance. Or maybe the song just has to grow on me?! His showstopper performance was a bit flat, it could be fatigue setting in? In all honesty I don't know if Karabo did enough to clinch the title.

It really was Mmatema’s night. When it comes to song choices she hit the jackpot! The producer’s choice of Adele’s, Hello was fresh, current and on point. She toned down the screaming and the high notes were controlled. It was a beautiful soulful rendition. I cannot fault her.
Mmatema’s winners song is exactly that it ticks all the boxes, a great tune, a catchy hook, a female anthem. It’s way easier on the ears than Karabo’s. And sorry Unathi we are going to compare the two, this is a competition. It was an all round good performance. Her closing performance of Whitney Houston's, Dance with Somebody was actually better this time around. She had a good week. My money’s on Mmatema!
