Pearl Thusi urges fans not to pirate her Netflix series 'Queen Sono'

The much-anticipated Netflix series, Queen Sono, which stars Pearl Thusi finally hit our screens last week and as its success continues to soar daily.

Now, Pearl has urged fans not to pirate the show.

The actress and model addressed a fan who had shared a screenshot showing him downloading the series from an illegal website.

"Let me download it," the fan wrote in response to Pearl’s tweet where she had mentioned how Queen Sono was the number 1 most streamed series in South Africa and in Kenya.

Pearl then responded to the fan’s tweet by calmly asking him not to pirate the show as they had worked hard on it.

"Babe please don’t pirate our show. We worked so hard on it and the numbers via the platform itself will help the success of the show and other shows out of Africa on Netflix," she wrote with a sad face emoji.

The actress continued to enjoy the success of the series by engaging with her fans from different countries who revealed what number the series was in their countries.

"Number 1 in Uganda on the list of Netflix Originals," a tweep from Uganda wrote.

Pearl also revealed that the show was at number 7 in the USA – to top it all of, she was featured in Oprah Magazine where she was named "the South African A-Lister to keep on your radar".

She expressed her excitement at the international magazine feature by retweeting the article and sharing how she couldn’t believe it.

"Am I dreaming?! WHAT ??!!!!! Mama look at your girl!!!," she wrote.

Many fans have taken to Twitter to congratulate her on her performance in the show.
