Cape Town – After weeks of gruelling competition and an epic runway finale, the winner of Project Runway SA has been announced.
Kentse Masilo beat out the competition to bag both the title and an awesome prize package.
The 26-year-old futuristic designer from Bathanie wowed the judges from the very first challenge, with her design aesthetics and origami-inspired garments.
Her 12-piece collection was a triple-themed, versatile collection of pinks, greys, reds and whites with hand stitched detailing.

About her Project Runway experience the designer said: “Project Runway gave me a voice and made all my dreams come true. I’m so empowered and so excited about Paris Fashion Week … I can’t wait to come back and turn up the heat!”
Kentse’s prize package includes: A pop up store at Paris Fashion Week, a mentorship and prizes worth over R400k from Edgars, a Lexus CT 200h luxury compact hybrid worth R530k, a trip to New York Fashion Week with TRESemmé to learn about hair in the fashion industry, and R20k from TRESemmé towards their first showcase at a South African Fashion Week, Kelso Beauty products worth R30,000, a R10 000 shopping voucher from Menlyn Park Shopping Centre who will host the winner’s first official showcase.
