The search for South Africa’s next big fashion designer has arrived. Mzansi Magic, Ndalo Pictures, 4th Street Wines and production partners Rapid Blue are bringing us Project Runway SA, season one. The popular show, started in the US, will see designs judged by Noni Gasa and Rahim Rawjee in the company of a guest judge. Each week, a designer contestant is eliminated until one gifted star walks away with the prize. Watch TV history made as the hypnotic Lerato Kganyago steps into the role of Project Runway SA’s host, while fashion designer Gert-Johan Coetzee shines as mentor (urging Kganyago and resident judges Noni Gasa and Rahim Rawjee to “be nice to his children”). We can’t wait.

Sugar Rush

On Netflix SA from July 13

Time is the most important ingredient as competing teams race against the clock to bake up the best-tasting sweets. Judging the offerings will be Adriano Zumbo, of the Australian TV show Zumbo’s Just Desserts, and Candace Nelson, proprietor of LA-based cupcake chain Sprinkles. This eight-episode series will be hosted by Game Show Network veteran Hunter March, and it’s being produced by Magical Elves, the team that makes Top Chef. Sounds sweet.
