Riverdale's Luke Perry episode was incredibly hard for the cast

Johannesburg – Riverdale's Luke Perry tribute episode was incredibly hard for the cast.  

The show's creator, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa revealed in June that the season 4 premiere would pay tribute to the actor who died in March at the age of 52 after suffering a stroke.  

"We knew it was going to be hard and it was," Aguirre-Sacasa said in a Q&A session at a screening of the episode, adding that the episode is cathartic for fans of the show. 

According to TV Line, the episode will see the show set aside its regular "over-the-top" plotlines and instead focus on the tragedy of losing Perry.
