Safta winning actress Zola Nombona joins Dancing with the Stars SA

Cape Town - M-Net (DStv 101) has been lining up a glamourous group of celebrity contestants for its new local series Dancing With The Stars SA, including acting legend Frank Opperman, award-winning TV presenter Thembisa Mdoda, actress Juanita De Villiers, former Miss SA Liesl Laurie and South Africa’s proudest mom, Odessa Swarts

On Monday the channel confirmed the next starlet to compete in the series: Actress Zola Nombona will also be waltzing her way onto the glitzy Dancing With The Stars stage in 2018!

Zola, who won the 2016 Golden Horn Award for best lead actress for her work in the movie Ingoma, says that she’s thrilled to be a part of Dancing With The Stars SA. “I’m excited to push myself and see how I can morph into a dancer. It is my first time ever taking part in a competition like this, and to be a part of one of this magnitude, feels amazing. It’s totally out of my comfort zone and I’m ready for the challenge!”

The Eastern Cape-born actress is best known for her role as ‘Shado’ a streetwise teenager, in the second season for South African TV drama series Intersexions in 2013. Thereafter, in 2016, Zola landed the lead role in the popular Mzansi Magic local prison series Lockdown, which she has been part of for two seasons. Zola also recently starred in two more TV series, namely iNumber iNumber (28), and Love Lives Here

Dancing with the Stars SA, in which 12 untrained local celebrities will put their best foot forward with the help of highly skilled professional Latin and Ballroom dancers, will commence on M-Net (DStv 101) on Sunday, 4 February 2018.

The hosts of the series are Tracey Lange and Chris Jaftha and the esteemed panel of judges will be announced in due course.
