SA's best amateur baker to be crowned tonight!

Johannesburg - After 24 challenges, 2 600 eggs, 73kg of chocolate and a whole host of other ingredients, The Great South African Bake Off will see the three finalists, Carol, Nasreen and Cait give it all they have in the hope of being crowned South Africa’s best amateur baker.

The final episode sees the judges Shirley Guy and Tjaart Walraven put the three ladies through one last round of challenges.

The signature bake requires a themed, layered children’s party cake. All three let their creativity run wild in the tent and treat the judges and viewers to a pink lemonade garden, a colourful rainbow, and a more mysterious anti-gravity tea party.

Then it is time for the final technical challenge of series two. The three finalists approach the bake with both relief and trepidation and try their best to produce the perfect Apricot, Chocolate and Honey Mousse Gateau. It’s a real tester designed to separate the good from the great.

For the pièce de résistance, family and friends gather in support around the infamous tent to enjoy the final challenge and see who will be crowned the ultimate star baker.

For the showstopper, the ladies are asked to create a festive tea fruit cake with marzipan and the finest fondant in all of South Africa. Stepping up to wow the judges are an Easter themed boiled offering, a chocolate, hazelnut and cranberry creation, and an Eid Fusion special. It’s a burst of colour, culture and skill and really shows why these ladies have been chosen as the three finalists.

Don’t miss this exciting and dramatic climax to a baking journey second to none.
