South Africans can now see Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer in their award-winning roles in Killing Eve.

The spy-thriller series will premiere on Fox (DStv 125 and StarSat 131), for the first time in South Africa, on Wednesdays at 20:45 from 6 May.

Nominated for the Best Drama Television series at the Golden Globe Awards two years in a row, the broadcast of season one will lead directly into the second and third seasons of this gripping production.

Based on the novels by Luke Jennings and written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the series centres on two distinctly different women. Eve (Oh) is a bored, whip-smart MI5 security officer whose desk-bound job doesn’t fulfil her fantasies of being a spy. Villanelle (Comer) is a mercurial, talented killer who clings to the luxuries her violent job affords her.

Killing Eve topples the typical spy-action thriller as these two fiercely intelligent women, equally obsessed with each other, go head to head in an epic game of cat and mouse. This series, which combines brutal mischief making and pathos, is filled with sharp humour, originality and high stakes action.

This fast-paced series is a character study on two lives, two women and their circumstances, their hopes, their wants, their fears and what keeps them from ending it all. It’s just that one happens to be an assassin and the other a spy. "If I’ve done my job right, the audience should feel equally chilled as they are excited by the determination of these women, their journeys and how drawn they are to one another," explains writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
