Sharon Osbourne quits X Factor mid-season

Cape Town – Sharon Osbourne has announced that she will not be returning to X Factor UK

Sharon, who has been a judge on the show for a number of seasons, was due to return to the show for the live episodes.

On the judging panel for auditions for the 15th season currently broadcast on M-Net (DStv 101) are Robbie Williams, Ayda Williams, Louis Tomlinson and Simon Cowell. Sharon was expected to return for the live shows.

On Monday she shared the news of her exit on Facebook.

She wrote: “After watching the new season #XFactor unfold, I’ve seen the new judges finding their rhythm and are doing brilliantly. Simon was so gracious to find me a spot on the live shows but at this point I really don’t think I’m needed and I would honestly feel odd coming in at this point. So I have decided to pass on the series this year.”

The Talk co-host also thanked her fans for all their support.

According to BangShowBiz ITV confirmed the news and said she will remain a big part of the show.

Sharon’s exit comes hot on the heels of an interview with Howard Stern about contestants on the reality singing competition.

She said: "Oh fuck, I don’t have to have those kids singing in my face. They all suck. It’s like, is this fucking karaoke or what?”
