Shhh, 'Don’t Tell the Bride SA' coming to Lifetime

Cape Town – A+E Networks has commissioned a local South African version of Don’t Tell the Bride.

Don’t Tell the Bride SA that will be broadcast on Lifetime (DStv 131) in 2020, featuring often-hapless grooms planning and surprising brides with weddings. This will be the 18th localised version of the show in the world.

The British version has been shown on BBC Lifestyle, SABC3 and now Lifetime.

The show follows a sometimes-clueless bridegroom who is given a budget to plan the entire wedding while keeping his worried bride in the dark.

"The drama, laughs, tears and tantrums of the UK version have already resonated with our viewers, so we can’t wait for the response to a homegrown version featuring local people, and customs and locations unique to South Africa," says Kelly Hornsby, head of acquisitions at A+E Networks.
