The Great SA Bake Off returns for third season

Cape Town – BBC Worldwide has renewed The Great South African Bake Off for a third season that will be broadcast in late-2017 on BBC Lifestyle (DStv 174).

The 10 episodes of third season of the baking show based on The Live Productions format and produced by Rapid Blue, will once again be filmed in Johannesburg during winter.

Contestants will likely be vetted even more stringently than before after contestant Asfeyah Mia awkwardly left the second season midway through the show after questions surfaced about her amateur baking status.

BBC Worldwide says the second season of The Great South African Bake Off pulled an average of 100 000 viewers per episode and made BBC Lifestyle the number one rated channel in its competitor set on DStv.
