Comedy Central’s third South African Roast will see Somizi Mhlongo in the hot seat while other local personalities “roast” him. The previous personalities were Steve Hofmeyr and Kenny Kunene, who endured punishing monologues from their peers before being allowed to grill the panel. Hosted by radio personality Gareth Cliff, the roasters this year include anchor Joanne Joseph, comedians Skhumba Hlophe and Schalk Bezuidenhout, media personality Nomzamo Mbatha, ANC head of elections Fikile Mbalula, singer Kurt Darren, poet Ntsiki Mazwai, and radio and TV personality DJ Fresh. An extended and uncensored version will be available to ShowMax subscribers from 8 May.
