The trailer for Insecure season 3 issa yes!

Cape Town – The new trailer for Issa Rae’s award-nominated comedy Insecure has just been released.

Set to Janelle Monáe’s I Got The Juice, we get a glimpse of what’s to come. Issa is living with Daniel (Y'lan Noel), Molly's (Yvonne Orji) relationship with Dro (Sarunas J. Jackson) is still complicated, Tiffany (Amanda Seals) is pregnant and Kelly (Natasha Rothwell) is as outspoken as ever. 

But where is Lawrence (Jay Ellis)?

In a Q&A with The Hollywood Reporter Issa talked about the themes that will be explored in the new season specifically toxic male black masculinity and how it relates to black women.

“I’m trying to find a way to explore that and get a rounded storyline that isn’t preachy,” said Issa.

Speaking about what the new season is about she said it is about “adulting in a new way”. 

“This season is about not acting like you’re naive anymore or that you don’t know better. So it is about, what does it look like to know better and to do better?" she told the publication.

Season 3 premieres on 1Magic (DStv 103) Monday 13 August at 21:30.
