Los Angeles - Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke are set to earn more than $500 000 per episode on Game of Thrones.

The 29-year-old actor, who plays Jon Snow in the hit HBO series, and the 29-year-old actress, who stars as Daenerys Targaryen, will receive the hefty amount next season and likely into an eighth season too.

Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) are also in line to take home the big pay cheques, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

And Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) and Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) are yet to have their contracts completed.

Season eight has yet to be announced but showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss says the programme is "approaching the finish line".
