Cape Town - Freddie Prinze Jr. almost didn't guest star in Friends.

The 43-year-old played Sandy, the nanny for Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) and Ross' (David Schwimmer) daughter Emma.

He appeared in one episode of the long-running sitcom.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the She's All That actor revealed that the role was initially offered to Tom Hanks.

"I wasn't even supposed to be [Sandy], that was originally offered to Tom Hanks, but he wasn't gonna make it back from his film on time," he said.

He went on to share that his agent called him and asked if he wanted to be on Friends, to which he replied 'Yeah, I'll do an episode of Friends. That'll be great'.
