‘Thrilling’ exit promised for Rhythm City's Mamokete

Cape Town – Fans of Rhythm City will have to say goodbye to Mamokete on the popular soapie on Wednesday, 20 April.

According to a press release on e.tv’s website Connie Chiume, who played Mamokete Khuse on Rhythm City since 2007, will have a "dramatic and thrilling" exit from the show.

The Daily Sun reported on Wednesday that Chiume’s exit from the show wasn’t her choice.

She told the Daily Sun: "It is how the script was written and one cannot argue with the writers. It was my time to go. It is not nice but that is the nature of the industry."

Connie will still be focusing on her love for acting, and her long time passion for farming.

"This departure will allow me to pick up on things that were left undone. I am grateful for the time and experience with Rhythm City and e.tv. I believe I was born to be an actress, it’s in my blood. Parting is such sweet sorrow, and I will miss my Rhythm City family," says Connie.
