Cape Town - Five months ago the country was introduced to a new show, Uyajola 9/9, similar to the America TV series Cheaters. And we went through all kinds of emotions watching the show, hosted by rapper Molemo "Jub Jub" Maarohanye and Moss Makwati.

Now, after many weeks of drama-filled Sundays, the series is taking a break. This comes after complaints following an episode in which a man, who was found cheating on his wife, was assaulted. The Broadcasting Complaints Commission of SA (BCCSA) confirms it did receive complaints about the episode, but registrar Shouneez Martin says the decision to take a show off the air does not lie with them.

"At this stage I can only confirm that the BCCSA received complaints and I cannot provide any further comment on the matter," Martin tells DRUM. "MultiChoice should be able to explain if and why they are stopping the programme since the BCCSA is not a censorship mechanism and we can therefore not stop a programme."
