Johannesburg - All students and young people entering an industry can benefit greatly from someone experienced taking them under their wing.
The Mentorship Challenge started out as a talk show on CNBC (DStv channel 410), hosted by executive chairman of Redefine Properties Marc Wainer. It’s grown into an online platform where mentors are paired up with mentees to share their insights and experience.
In four months, the organisation managed to get 1 000 hours pledged.
“This online portal offers ... the perfect platform to meet, engage and exchange business ideas and perspectives,” says the website. “In a country facing what is commonly termed a ‘crisis of leadership’, the moment has arrived for business leaders to step into the breach and provide aspirational leadership models for future generations.”
Those who have dedicated their time include Nella Qata, Zuki Mzozoyana, Dawie Roodt, Grace Harding, Lira, Chris Bishop, Papama Mtwisha, Taddy Blecher, Brian Joffe and Pearl Kupe.
Catch The Mentorship Challenge on Wednesdays on CNBC (DStv channel 410) at 20:30.
