WATCH: New TV movie imagines Prince Charles as king

Cape Town – What would England be like under the rule of King Charles?

A TV movie King Charles III imagines a world where he is king. 

Based on the award-winning play of the same name by Mike Bartlett, the story follows Charles' rule after the queen's death. 

After Charles refuses to sign into law a controversial bill that will limit freedom of the press he asks the prime minister to change the bill.

The prime minister in turn refuses and passes the law, Charles then dissolves parliament and all chaos breaks loose. 

Tim Pigott-Smith best known for his role in Downton Abbey plays Prince Charles. The actor has since died.

Other cast members include: Oliver Chris as Prince William, Richard Goulding as Prince Harry, Margot Leicester as Camilla, Adam James as the UK prime minister and Charlotte Riley as Kate Middleton.
