For the 75th anniversary of the ever-popular children’s book series, Thomas & Friends, the Duke of Sussex will make a special television appearance to introduce Thomas & Friends: The Royal Engine.

On the special, which will feature two very special characters – Queen Elizabeth and a young Prince Charles and see Thomas travel to London for the first time on a mission to take Sir Topham Hatt to Buckingham Palace to receive an honour – Prince Harry said: "Thomas the Tank Engine has been a comforting, familiar face to so many families over the last 75 years – entertaining, educating and inspiring children on important issues through exciting stories and characters.

"I certainly have fond memories of growing up with Thomas & Friends and being transported to new places through his adventures. I am very proud to have been asked to take part in this special episode. I wish Thomas & Friends a very happy anniversary."

Actress, Rosamund Pike, will feature as the voice of the new Royal Engine character, also known as the Duchess of Loughborough. She said it was "an absolute honour" to play the character who is responsible for getting the royal family around.
