Cape Town – Ruby Rose has revealed that she needed surgery after sustaining severe injuries on the set of Batwoman.
The 33-year-old will play the titular character in the upcoming CW series. The actress' casting made history as she is the first LGBTQ lead in a live-action superhero series. (Read more here)
On Thursday, she posted a video on Instagram of the emergency surgery she underwent after an injury left her facing possible paralysis.
In a lengthy caption, she wrote: "To everyone asking about my new Pez dispenser scar on my neck. A couple of months ago, I was told I needed emergency surgery, or I was risking becoming paralysed.

"I had herniated two discs doing stunts, and they were close to severing my spinal cord. I was in chronic pain and yet couldn't feel my arms... Thank you, Dr Bray, for everything you did and for allowing me to keep working and doing what I love. I am forever in your debt."
