WATCH: Young Cookie and Lucious meet for the first time in <em>Empire</em>

Cape Town – The new season of Empire is taking back, way back to when Cookie and Lucious started. 

For the first time we get to see the beginning of the romance between the pair.

In the trailer for season three a flashback introduces us to teenager Lucious and Cookie and their first meeting .

In the clip Cookie says, "When I first saw you rap, it changed my life."

Lucious replies, "It's always been Cookie and Lucious."

Jeremy Carver and Ajiona Alexus play the younger versions of the Lyons.

By the looks of it the Lyon family will again be under attack this time by family.  Lucious’ half-brother Tariq seems to be out to bring down the Lyons.

Season 3 of the hit series debuts in the US on 21 September.
