What's on TV this weekend: Sport, reality, and gripping local film

Cape Town – Two 'weekends' in one week – what a treat!

Whether you’re going to camp out on the couch or be a causal TV viewer this weekend we have lined up five must-see shows.

From reality, to sport, to investigative journalism, to a near future dystopian series - add these shows to your watch list.

1) Marrying Millions

Friday, 27 September

21:00 - Lifetime (DStv 131)

This reality show follows the love lives of six unlikely couples who hope to get married but come from completely different worlds – one partner is incredibly wealthy and the other is most certainly not. Are these stories of true love or simply true love of their newfound lavish lifestyles?

2) RWC '19 SA vs Namibia

Saturday, 28 September

11:28 - Supersport 1 (DStv 201)

Live from City of Toyota Stadium in Japan. The Springbok's take on the neighbour is their second match of the tournament.

3) Carte Blanche

Sunday, 29 September

19:00 - M-Net (DStv 101)

In this special 90-minute extended broadcast the weekly investigative programme will revisit several stories from the last year to find out the truth has brought any change, and if not, why not? Interspersed between fresh investigations and gritty confronts, view several follow-up inserts on Carte Blanche this week for the answers you’ve been asking for.

4) Droplets

Showmax

In this intricate film, five stories are linked together in fascinating ways by characters that appear more than once. It stars some of South Africa's top talent including Jerry Mofokeng, Nobuhle Mahlasela and Rami Chuene.

5) Man in the High Castle

Amazon Prime

This series, loosely based Philip K. Dick's novel of the same name, takes a look at what the world might look like had the outcome of World War II turned out differently. (Read our interview with the actors here)
