Whose cookie will crumble on SA Bake Off tonight?

Johannesburg - The amateur bakers have made it through to week four and will now face the deceptively tough Biscuit Week.

The latest episode of The Great South African Bake Off will see presenter Anne cruelly behead a gingerbread man, biscuit fillers ooze out in all the wrong places, and Tjaart is left speechless.

The bakers are put through their paces with a classic signature bake of creating delicious filled biscuits. Imaginations and creations run wild with the judges being treated to an array of red velvet creams, jam sandwich biscuits and coffee cookie sandwiches.

The technical bake then gets artistic vibes flowing with a spread of “Botanical Iced Cape Soetkoekies,” or sweet biscuits. The cookies must display three iconic South African flowers – a Pincushion Protea design, a Strelitzia design and an Arum Lily motif. The challenge reduces the Bake Off tent to shaky hands and quivering piping bags.

The showstopper is a Bake Off favourite – building a gingerbread house. The results are both spectacular and spectacularly bad; some of the most ambitious designs melt and crumble, whilst others wow the judges like never before.

This biscuit week episode delivers its fair share of tears and drama, topped by a bombshell at the close of baking. A classic must-see episode.
